Overview of Computer Viruses

12 Mei 2011

Often we hear and say the word virus, but when asked to explain what the definition of computer virus that actually, is a wide range of answers that will be heard by the uncertainty tones.
But when taken in general or pulled his red thread about the same answer, which is a program that could damage other programs. Not to mention the fundamental question that comes to mind that still lay computer users, for example what is the differences and similarities between computer viruses with a virus in the medical field.
In medicine, the virus in living organisms are micro-organisms that can not be seen by light microscopy in a state let alone the naked eye but can only be seen by electron microscopy. Who's in computer science definition of a virus is a computer program that has the ability to replicate, infect, alter, manipulate, even to destroy other files program.
While the similarities between computer viruses to a biological virus is a similarity in the characteristics, principles and how it works in the infected victim.
Computer viruses come in many forms, but in general have the potential to execute files through 2 stages, the first phase of the infection and the second stage is the phase of attack (attack). In this phase there are several patterns of infection in the infected program, including: will infect other programs each file the virus is run, there is also a virus that will infect other files via the approach of the trigger (trigger). The process could trigger based on time, date, day or by timer (counter) that exists in the virus program itself.
Phase of the attack carried out by several viruses with unpredictable consequences are like erase or change data in the hard disk, the computer becomes slow, play music, display a message or an animated image on the screen.
